CPA EXAMLike with any other profession that requires any kind of proficient knowledge, to become a CPA, you first need to pass a special CPA exam.Essentially, there are four main CPA exam sections and each part of the exam is a 4-hour test covering a broad range of topics and concepts. To pass the exam you have to score at least 75 points and finish all four sections within an 18-month testing window. As you can see, it is a very serious exam and it can take months to prepare for all four parts. The good thing i s that you can select any section in any order you want and you can even take any number of exams in the same testing window so it is very flexible and it is up to you how you will organize your time.A quick tip: Although it is possible to pass all four sections all at once, we recommend you to choose no more than two because these exams are known to be stressful and you dont want to push yourself over your breaking point before you even started your career. All of the test sections consist of Multiple-Choice Questions or MCQ, Task-Based Simulations and Written Communication and their presence varies from section to section and also the exams are annually updated so there isn’t any consistency in terms of what kind of questions you will get in each section.Grading the tests are based on the allocation of percentages of each part of the test and also skill allocation which is the same for every test.By combining those percentages, you will get an overall score between 0 and 100 poin ts and as we said, you need 75 points or to complete ¾ of the test to pass. It allocates to about 15-25% of the test.Skil l Allocation:Evaluation â€" N/AAnalysis â€" 20-30%Application â€" 50-60%Remembering and Understanding â€" 15-25%TEST QUESTIONSAs we already mentioned, there are three types of ways you are tested on this exam and we are going to go into detail into two of them mainly because the third one, the Written Communication part, is only present in the BEC section which participates in 15% of this section.Written Communication tests your ability to write and express yourself in the manner and expectations of the business community and having a degree in Business English will certainly help you to articulate your communication through written text.It consists of writing a memo or a client letter in a word processor. To put it simply, you will be tested for your technical writing and communication skills, so its not that hard of a task. Now let’s look at the other two tasks.Multiple-Choice QuestionsEvery student loves MCQs because they think that they have more chance for passing the exam but this doesn’t have to be true as they can be tricky at times and usually there are trick-questions which can bait you easily if your knowledge of the topic is superficial.MCQs in this CPA exam vary in difficulty and it depends on your answers, so for example, if you are doing great in the medium section of the MCQ task, you will be transferred into a more difficult section and so on.Of course, the opposite thing happens if you perform poorly, you will be downgraded to an easier set of questions. The more difficult questions you answer the higher percentage you get so you want to try and do your best to answer all of them correctly because one correct difficult question is equal to multiple easy or medium questions, so put your thinking hat on for this one.All four sections consist out of 50% of MCQs.Task-Based SimulationThe simulations consist of problems which you need to solve and they show how well you can apply your knowledge and demonstrate your understanding of various topics .Even though they are differently formatted for each section, they usually consist of filling in the blank and one research question which requires you to research a topic using authoritative literature and citations.Except for the BEC section (35%), the other three sections consist of 50% of Task-Based Simulations.EXAM TIPSLet us talk about some useful tips you can follow to prepare you for this “scary” exam. You’ve seen the exam format and you know that you can choose which section of the exam you want to take first so now you are probably wondering which section might be the easiest or the best to start with. And because this depends from person to person, you first need to see which section seems the easiest for you and maybe start from there, because each section requires you to have different skills and knowledge which when put together make up a professional CPA.Our advice is to start from the section you think is your weakest point because once you finish that the other three sections are smooth sailing. Also, if you were wondering, in recent years the most difficult section seems to be the BEC because it involves a more personal approach from clients opposed to the other three which just require you to have excellent knowledge of the presented topics.Another tip we can give you is to not rush the examination and take your time to prepare because you don’t want to put in too much effort then is required and you don’t want to waste so much time on it either. If you find yourself struggling with exam preparations, consider hiring a tutor who will teach you all the things you need to know step by step and that way you will know that you are ready for the exam.Once you find an institution which holds CPA exams, they will guide you through everything you need to know about the exam itself and they will provide you with all the material necessary.Just relax and be patient. If you want to become a CPA then turn this study time into your passion and prep are yourself for this career path because how you perform on your exam will determine how you perform in a real office environment.CPA JOBSAs we’ve said in the beginning, there are many career paths you can follow if you want to become a CPA but your best bets are two major branches of business and now we’re going to examine both of them and see which careers you can pursuit inside those two choices.Public AccountingThere are all sorts of jobs which you can find in public accounting and we’re going to name just a few honorable mentions that are the most popular.Auditing and Reviewing â€" This is where the AUD section of the exam comes in handy because this job involves auditing client financial statements and issuing an opinion. You are just a third-party who reviews and evaluates financial statements.Tax Preparation â€" This includes preparing all different types of client tax forms from property taxes to income taxes and constructing tactics for clients to structure affairs and minimize tax burdens.Consulting Services â€" Involves helping clients identify business problems and run operations more effectively and evaluating internal controls and identifying operational improvements.Forensic Accounting Services â€" Involves identifying embezzlement schemes by digging through the financial records and uncovering if money was stolen and report fraudulent. You are a financial fraud detective.Financial Planning â€" Involves advising clients on selling a business and transferring them to other parties and informing their clients of tax ramifications during the evaluation process and planning stages.Litigation Services â€" Even though CPAs arent law experts, they can be used by attorneys to dig up financial records for evidence concerning divorce proceedings, bankruptcies, business mergers, acquisitions or splits.Industry AccountingOpposed to public accounting which deals with clients and companies, industry accounting falls out of that scope and it offers man y different positions. We will name just a few.Company Management â€" Because CPAs have a diverse skill set, they can be great managers who have a great understanding of finance, operations, and profit improvements.Company Executive â€" Apart from being great managers, CPAs can also be great CEOs, CFOs or COOs mainly because they know how the company functions and it isn’t uncommon for companies to hire them at these positions.Non-Profit Organizations â€" Every company needs leadership, even non-profit organizations because they also need someone to give advice and guide the organizations to properly use their funds.Government â€" If you want to be an FBI agent, but not really, you might have a chance because CPAs are constantly employed by the government to work in places like the IRS, FBI, the military, the Congress and any level of government.Education â€" Many professors who teach accounting, business or even economy are CPA certified and theres no surprise that they some CPAs even opt to become professors. And, whats great about it is that they will stimulate their students to become CPAs themselves.CPA SKILLSNow that weve covered the CPA exams and the different jobs you can expect to be doing as a CPA, we need to talk about all the skills that are necessary to have to be a certified public accountant. Please note that some of these skills aren’t that important and it won’t be a deal-breaker if you don’t have them, while others are crucial, and they are what set you apart from other accountants.Management and Leadership â€" These two skills are pretty much essential if you want to become a CPA mainly because they arent skills that every person has. Sure you are taught management if youve gone to a business school, but leadership skills are something that you are either born with or you have to work very hard on to achieve.Public Speaking â€" As we already mentioned, being a CPA isn’t a boring office job and it requires you to communicate to a lot of clients and parties, even give presentations and that being said you need to have the confidence and proper speaking skills to represent yourself in the best way possible.Tax knowledge â€" Yes, accounting is about taxes, but not for the most part. However, you are expected to be up-to-date with a clients tax record, to predict future taxations, solve tax issues and so on. Just please dont forget to do your taxes.Business expert â€" As a CPA, you are a professional businessman and you know everything about running a company, how to organize it, how to manage resources and funds, do proper documentation and other related things. It is really important to be focused on keeping track of everything done in the company because one small detail can change the whole system.Auditing skills â€" CPAs excel at auditing and internal auditors are wanted in both public and industry accounting. You need to give proper advice to your clients, to review their business plans, moves and help them e valuate their current and future state of the company.Communication â€" Apart from being a great public speaker, you need to have proper communication with other employees who are in different positions because all of you are in tune with the current state of the company and you are the wheels which keep the companys engine turning. There are plenty more skills which you can have that will certainly help you to become a professional CPA, but listing them all would take a whole other article so try and see which skills you possess that could potentially also be helpful.CONCLUSIONWeve tried to break down this complex topic as much as possible and weve given you everything you need to know before you start your preparations for being a CPA.We’ve talked about the exam, its sections and format, what you can expect it to look like and some tips which will help you prepare better. After that, weve briefly gone through some of the jobs you can expect you will be doing when you become a CPA. And finally, we’ve listed some really important skills you should have to become a true professional in your work. All in all, we’ve tried to make the position of a CPA seem fun and something different from just a boring accountant job and we hope that we’ve achieved that.We hope that you’ve found this article helpful and if you have any questions please leave a comment down below.Good luck on your exams, we know that you’ll pass!

Craniates - Crainata - the Animal Encyclopedia

Craniates (Craniata) are a group of chordates that includes hagfish, lampreys, and jawed vertebrates such as amphibians, birds, reptiles, mammals, and fishes. Craniates are best described as chordates that have a braincase (also called a cranium or a skull), mandible (jawbone) and other facial bones. Craniates do not include simpler chordates such as lancelets and tunicates. Some craniates are aquatic and have gill slits, unlike the more primitive lancelets which have pharyngeal slits instead. Hagfishes Are the Most Primitive Among craniates, the most primitive is the hagfishes. Hagfishes do not have a bony skull. Instead, their skull is made up of cartilage, a strong but flexible substance that consists of the protein keratin. Hagfishes are the only living animal that has a skull but lack a backbone or vertebral column. First Evolved Around 480 Million Years Ago The first known craniates were marine animals that evolved about 480 million years ago. These early craniates are thought to have diverged from lancelets. As embryos, craniates have a unique tissue called the neural crest. The neural crest develops into a variety of structures in the adult animal such as nerve cells, ganglia, some endocrine glands, skeletal tissue, and connective tissue of the skull. Craniates, like all chordates, develop a notochord that is present in hagfishes and lampreys but which disappears in most vertebrates where it is replaced by the vertebral column. All Have an Internal Skeleton All craniates have an internal skeleton, also called an endoskeleton. The endoskeleton is made up of either cartilage or calcified bone. All craniates have a circulatory system that consists of arteries, capillaries, and veins. They also have a chambered heart (in vertebrates the circulatory system is closed) and a pancreas and paired kidneys. In craniates, the digestive tract consists of a mouth, pharynx, esophagus, intestine, rectum, and anus.   The Craniate Skull In the craniate skull, the olfactory organ is located anterior to the other structures, followed by paired eyes, paired ears. Also within the skull is the brain which is made up of five parts, the romencephalon, metencephalon, mesencephalon, diencephalon, and telencepahlon. Also present in the craniate skull are a collection of nerves such as the olfactory, optic, trigeninal, facial, accoustic, glossopharygeal, and vagus cranial nerve.   Most craniates have distinct male and female sexes, although some species are hemaphroditic. Most fish and amphibians undergo external fertilization and lay eggs when reproducing while other craniates (such as mammals) bear live young. Classification Craniates are classified within the following taxonomic hierarchy: Animals Chordates Craniates Craniates are divided into the following taxonomic groups: Hagfishes (Myxini) - There are six species of hagfishes alive today. Members of this group have been the subject of much debate about how they should be placed within the classification of chordates. Currently, hagfishes are considered to be most closely related to lampreys.Lampreys (Hyperoartia) - There are about 40 species of lampreys alive today. Members of this group include northern lampreys, southern topeyed lampreys, and pouched lampreys. Lampreys have a long, slender body and a skeleton made of cartilage.Jawed vertebrates (Gnathostomata) - There are about 53,000 species of jawed vertebrates alive today. Jawed vertebrates include bony fishes, cartilaginous fishes, and tetrapods.

The Issues And Challenges Of Parents Of Children With Autism

6. Conclusion The literature review explores the issues and challenges of parents of children diagnosed with autism, challenges such as accepting the diagnosis, lack of social and family support, guilt, judgment, and coping with the child’s autistic behavior. The studies indicate that there is a connection between the parent’s psychological distress, such as depression and stress, and parenting a child with autism. A big part of the battle parents are facing depends on their self-acceptance, feeling of judgment by society, and the child’s level of behavioral problems. Sense And Sensiblity Essay Example For Students

Sense And Sensiblity Essay Sense and Sensibility Jane Austen was born on December 16, 1775, in Seventon Parsonage in Hampshire England. She was the seventh child of eight children. She was well educated by her father, who was a clergyman. When she was young she started writing novels for her family. It took her fifteen years to find a publisher, but when she did, her words became very widely known. To this day she is considered to be the first great woman novelist. Austens novels are mostly set in her own upper middle class English Country environment. They are based upon a young woman heroine who always ends up happily married. Austen shows how people struggle with issues of monetary value and the unhappiness it brings. She also shows how people struggle with their feelings and emotions for each other. In her novels, all the characters learn a lesson. The book Sense and Sensibility was published in 1811, and it is based on the observation of the people of her time. Because her novels always express the patter ns of behavior of the people of her time, people find then informative as well as entertaining. Sense and Sensibility is about the Dashwoods, who are struggling to overcome the death of their father and husband. When he died, they were left virtually penniless, and because the law says that everything is passed down to the son of the decease the family is left with nothing and no place to live. The Dashwoods move in to a small cottage in Barton. But before they leave the oldest daughter falls in love with Edward Farris. Edward is part of Englands upper class, and his sister does not approve of his relationship with Elinor Farris, so she sends him away to London. Shortly after moving to Barton, another on of the Dashwood girls, Marianne, meets Mr. Willouby after she falls down while running in the rain. Willouby is quite handsome and soon he and Marianne become quite fond of each other. Willoubys family does not like the idea of him marrying a poor girl, and they threaten to strip hi m of his wealth and inheritance if he marries her. At about the same time, Elinor finds out that Edward has been secretly engaged to someone else for five years. Both of the Dashwood sisters are left heartbroken. Edwards fiance is actually in love with his brother and she breaks the engagement. Edward is not free to love whom he pleases, and he and Elinor marry. Marianne falls in love with Colonel Brandon, who fell in love with her the day they met. They are married. Everyone in the book is happy in the end, except Willouby, who opted to keep his wealth, and marry someone he did not love.

Peace Essays - Abuse, Social Psychology, Persecution, Aggression

Peace Jay Kline Analysis Paper Bullying is a common issue within todays schooling system. The author makes it a point to talk about the behavioral aspect behind bullying, stating that bullying is a Distinct form of proactive aggression that is intentional, repeated, and involves imbalance between the perpetrator and victim. In the article,Direct Bullying: Criminal Act or Mimicking What Has Been Learned, exposing the underlying issue behind the aggressors mindset during an act of bullying. In their minds (the bully), they are choosing to act out of a repeated or learned habit that was potentially formed as a coping mechanism due to hardships faced in their own daily may be obvious and easy to notice due to the nave nature of the individual. For instance, a fifth grader may be more likely to bully a younger third grader versus a fellow peer because the third grader is more than likely smaller, younger in age, and less of a threat to their level of intelligence. Bullies are not always verbal in their acts of aggres sion; frankly it is more of the subtle acts that place more of a fear into their victims minds. After reading the first article I read two more articles about the topic of bullying and another easy way, from the article, A Latent Class Approach to Examining Forms of Pure Victimization,to break down the target is by starting rumors, sexual comments, or gestures(Card behaviors such as these have a longer lasting affect mentally on the individual. A rumor may last days to months whereas physical acts such as pushing, shove, or kicking are but momentary lessons of fear. The bullys objective is to not only harass but to cause one to unconsciously be willing to submit and surrender them without putting up much of a fight. In the Journal of Child Although we see it is possible to bully a person in more than one way, which does not alleviate its original form of expression, physical bullying. As Joseph Simplicio refers to our two most focus generations where bullying has seemed to reach it s peak; Generation Z / Generation I Internet Children (those born from 1994- 2004) rumor spreading, physical harming, and cyber harassment. When reading these three articles, it questions if the first article presented, Direct Bullying: Criminal Act or Mimicking What Has Been Learned, does not only hold true facts and statements from the author but that its also a reliable source. Although, there were some similarities between them, they also had a lot of different things to say about what exactly leads to bullying and why children and teens do it. Yet, I do think they were all saying the same thing, just in different ways to overall have a broad maybe even better understanding. Irish History essays
